Cap A is an artist that has been blessed with a seemingly infinite amount of creativity and hypnotizing way with words. The New Jersey-native recently relocated to Florida to further expand his brand and music.
The emerging artist has collaborated with several notable artists and producers including: Blaze 1, Zulu, Sauce Boss, and FuityLoopKing. FruityLoopKing was once signed with Crunchy Black’s (from Oscar and Academy Award winning group 3-6 Mafia) record label.
Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Cap A regarding his past and future.
How long have you been making music?
“I’ve been making music since I was 10 years old.”
What prompted you to start?
“ I would say, my love for hip-hop and the culture itself. I have a message to spread….”
What are three characteristics that best describe you?
“Laid back, unique, and smooth”
What projects are you currently working on?
“I’m currently working on ‘BossPlaya Vol. 1’ (mixtape), BossPlaya single and video, first Council Music mixtape hosted by DJ Staxx, DJ Supreme, and DJ B-Nice. I’m also featured on the legendary DJ Ron G’s mixtape, ‘We Made It….the whole BossPlaya Campaign is coming together this Spring.”
What is the hardest situation that you’ve had to face?
“Running away from home at age 10, living in an abusive household with my mom and two sisters.”
What would you say is the most important lesson that you’ve learned?
“Work with people who have you in their best interest.”
Where do you see yourself being in five years?
“In five years I see myself as an artist who is successfully selling units and a successful entrepreneur.”
Is there anything that you would like to say in closing?“I’m here to make top quality rap and R&B music, be myself, be creative, and have fun doing it.”
