As a child one of my favorite cartoons was Popeye the sailor. At one point it came on television at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings. I remember my grandmother waking me so I could go sit on the living room couch to watch. Popeye’s strength camewhen he ate a can of spinach. His motto was: I’m strong to the finish cause I eats my spinach, I’m Popeye the sailor man.”
Popeye’s cartoon was not far off the mark as spinach has been proven to have multiple health benefits. This leafy green vegetable strengthens muscles, regulates blood pressure, and improves eyesight.
