Taking a cruise can be one of the greatest vacation experiences of a lifetime. On most cruise ships, there’s an almost infinite about of activities and leisure services all within the same vicinity. Cruises offer value, convenience, and practicality simultaneously, and with the right planning, you can be well on your way to the dream vacation! I have provided some travel tips in the following paragraphs that will make your first time cruise a fantastic experience.
First, research the particular cruise line that you’re considering. These different lines vary, just like hotel chains. Once you narrow your choices, then decide what options (i.e. vacation destination, family oriented, price, length of cruise, excursions, etc) are most important to you. Considering the previously mentioned specifics can help you better target your vacation expectations.
After selecting your cruise line and destination, begin searching for the best deals or promotions online. If your travel dates are flexible, you can score major discounts on airfare, car rental, and the cruise itself. Be sure to re-confirm everything once you’ve made your reservations… it never hurts to make sure!
It is also important to check out what shore excursions are available on your cruise. If there’s something you’re interested in, book it in advance due to price reduction and availability. Also, after your excursion, and no matter what, make sure you’re back in time to catch the boat!
Expect to walk… a lot! This includes on the ship and on shore. Likewise, be sure to secure a map of the cruise liner because they are massive, and it’s easy to get lost.
Remember that all-inclusive does not actually include EVERYTHING… drinks, laundry services, spa services, etc. are not included. And if you’re in for a bargain, wait until the last day or so of the cruise! This is generally when announcements are made regarding specials that are run on spa treatments, etc. You’ll definitely get more for your money if you wait!
There are so many helpful tips for first time cruisers, but I hope these help you to start planning an amazing vacation!
