It’s that time of year when lots of our loved ones are graduating from high school and college, and it’s time to start planning those graduation parties! It’s the perfect time of year for a BBQ or pool party in your backyard or at the park.
Décor – It’s graduation time, so of course you should decorate for your party with lots of graduation themed decorations! At your local party store, you can find ‘Congrats Grad’ balloons, table cloths, plates, and napkins with graduation caps and diplomas all over them. It’s also a great idea to decorate by putting up pictures of the graduate showing their journey to get where they are today.
Cooking Supplies – Whenever you’re planning on having a BBQ, make sure you have a great grill to cook all your meats on. Don’t forget serving dishes for your meats, appetizers, and desserts. In addition to your serving dishes make sure you have tongs while you’re barbecuing and plenty of serving spoons for the different dishes you plan on serving.
Furniture – It’s important that you make sure to have plenty of tables and chairs for your graduation party. You can rent as many tables and chairs that you need at your local party rental store. If you’re going to have a pool party, make sure you have lawn chairs and purchase some extra towels for those who forget theirs at home.
Entertainment – After so much hard work and finally getting to graduate, people are going to want to let loose! It’s a great idea to hire a DJ to keep everyone dancing and having a good time at your get together. If you decide to go with a pool party, stop by a Dollar Tree and pick up a bunch of pool toys to keep the fun going all day long. If you have your party at the park, you can rent a bounce house with a water slide; these are fun for people of all ages and will keep everyone cool on a hot summer day.
Food – My favorite part is the food! You want to have delicious food to satisfy everyone’s appetite, but you also want to keep it simple. Try these great items that are perfect for any BBQ and that everyone will love:
-Vegetables and meat on skewers (for grilling)
-Corn husks (for grilling)
-Chips and dip
-Cookies and cupcakes with little grad caps on top
Drinks – Lastly, you’ll want to make sure that you have cold drinks for your guests. Follow this simple and short list and you’ll be good to go:
-Cold beer (for those graduating from college)
