Want to go surfing in Hawaii, but don’t have a big bank account? Here are some places to stay and surf in Hawaii that are affordable.
There are many surfing schools that offer lessons for a great price. One in particular is called Alysha’s Surf School. Lessons offered here can start as low as $35 a person for a 2 hours if you have a group of 5 people or more. This means this would be great place to take lessons if you have a large group. If you can afford a bit more and would like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, they offer “The Elvis Surf Tour,” which is a package that runs $125 a person and includes an inside look at a bungalow where Elvis stayed. Pictures are welcome on this tour and would be great for Elvis fans. Another thing to take note is that they provide all the equipment that you need to surf so you don’t need to worry about buying any of that. Alysha’s Surf School is located in Waikiki. For more information about Alysha’s Surf School call 808-375-3137.
Another affordable place to learn how to surf is Hawaiian Surfing Adventures located in Kauai. For group lessons through Hawaiian Surfing Adventures it’s $65 per person. If you would rather have a semi-private lesson you and 2 other people can do so for $225 total. Completely private 1 on 1 lessons cost $150. The great thing this surf school is that although they let you use a board for free for the lessons you can also rent a board for the day so you can surf for how long you want. Rest and relaxation.
Staying the night in Hawaii can cost a lot but there are some ways to save some money. Booking vacation packages through discount sites, such as Expedia.com or Hotels.com, might be able to save you some money. One hotel located in Hanalei is recommended by Hawaiian Surfing Adventures because it is a “cheaper” hotel. This hotel is called Hanalei Inn and runs $180 a night for a studio room with a kitchen. If you prefer not to have a kitchen you can get a room there for $168 a night. The pros of having the kitchen though is that you can possibly make your own meals in the room to save money you have spent going out to eat.
To compare the price of Hanalei Inn to other hotels there’s a hotel called The Hanalei Surfboard House that runs $325 a night. It’s important to take note that this particular place only offers suites and is on many “Top Vacation Rental” lists for Hawaii. For more information about this place you call 808-651-1039.
Having a savings plan.
Having a savings plan for your surfing trip in Hawaii may also help decide which place is right for you. If you don’t plan on coming back again anytime soon it may be worth it to spend a little more to have the best experience. Most places seem to offer better prices for larger groups so it may be worth it to wait until you can have a group come with you so everyone can experience Hawaii at a much cheaper price.
