Wedding trends are constantly changing — every season and every year.
Color schemes for weddings are intertwined throughout the entire event: flowers, linens, shoes, etc. This summer, colors are falling into 1 of 3 categories: vibrant shades of primary colors, a warm shade of a secondary color, or neutrals. Bright yellow and vibrant blue are a common combination. Yellow conveys happiness, and then blue matches nearly everything. Beach weddings are also common, and in this case, yellow can represent the sunshine, and blue represents the ocean. On the other end of the spectrum are neutral shades. Neutrals are trending everywhere, weddings included. Just take home décor for one example. Open up a magazine and you will see tons of grays, beige, khaki, and modern whites. With a neutral color palette as your base, you can add pops of color elsewhere in eye catching decorations, make up, jewelry, etc.
Summer 2014 Wedding Color Trends
Recently, I have observed and read much about weddings that I have labeled with the name “Pinterest Weddings.” Pinterest Weddings are so unique and personalized to the couple. Not only that, but this allows for the bride and her wedding party to create the decorations themselves. The element of memory making is further extended through this process. Design and make your own centerpieces, set up your own personalized photo booth, or make your own guest book for everyone to sign. Create truly a one-of-a-kind wedding with your imagination and crafting skills. And have fun along the way!
Vintage elements to a wedding are also making a comeback, and this summer is no exception. Suspenders for the groom and groomsmen are in style. Casual shoes are often paired with this combination. Color coordinating Vans: gray, black, khaki, etc. are commonly seen. Add a bow tie to this ensemble, and you’ve got it! And do not think a suit is limited to only gray or black in color choice. Brown and khaki suits are taking the forefront.
But regardless of what is trending, make sure it is your style and what reflects you as a couple. And remember to have fun on your big day!
