I had a sister about to graduate with her degree in nursing and teacher appreciation day coming up. What was I going to give them as gifts? One of my new hobbies/addictions, is making bottle cap images. I have been using them for necklaces and as the center piece of hair bows, but why not use them for a name tag?
I went on the internet and selected the images that I wanted. I then went into Photoshop and made my nifty 1 inch bottle cap images. After only a few minutes (okay, okay, I will be honest) after a few hours, I had the images I wanted. I am new to Photoshop, so making these little 1 inch stinkers was a bit harder then I had first anticipated.
Once I had my cute little images all done and printed out, I cut them out with my handy dandy FISKARS 1 inch hole punch. Let me tell you that this thing comes in handy. It is so much easier then trying to cut it out on your own. After my images were all cut out I put some Gorilla super glue on my flattened bottle cap, put the image on top of that, to finish it off I put a clear epoxy sticker on top.
Now that the bottle cap image is all done and looking super cute, you glue the bottle cap to the retractable name tag clip. I found them at Fred Meyer for $3.49 for one and at Staples for $10.49 for 5 of them. Once they are glued on you can add any other embellishment that your little heart desires.
These great personalized name tags are the perfect gift for anyone. I made some for my daughters teachers, for my sister and some for my mom. A quick warning before you try this “They are addicting and you may not be able to stop making them.”
