Baking is like being a chemist; you mix all the ingredients together and hope for an outstanding outcome. One of my favorite treats is peanut butter cookies, a simple recipe, but it yields excellent results.
Peanut Butter Batter
In a mixer, beat ½ cup margarine or butter with ½ cup peanut butter until they are a creamy mixture. Then add 1 ¼ cup of all-purpose flour, ½ cup sugar, ½ cup packed brown sugar or ¼ honey, 1 egg, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon baking powder and ½ teaspoon of vanilla sugar. Mix the entire ingredients together until all the flour has dissolved so that you can roll it in to balls for the cookies.
Different Peanut Cookies
Once you have made the cookie dough there are many ways that you can enjoy this tasty treat. This is easy to do by adding different things to the batter, such as M&M’s, Reese Peanut Butter cups, or Hersey Kisses. In truth, any bite of candy goes well with the peanut butter cookie batter, it can even be eaten plain by using a fork and giving it it’s trademark fork cross through the cookie. This is one of my favorite things to make, not only do I like the tasty treat, but I also like the many varieties that I could make from a single mixture of basic batter. This was also the first thing that I learned to bake when I was a child of about 4 years old.
The Inspiration of Baking
Once I pick out the candies that I want to put into my favorite batter, I preheat the oven to 375 degrees and wait to taste test the first batch of delights. To me, cooking from scratch is the best way to bake it. I can always change and adjust the recipe any way that I desire. For the most part, all I have to do is trust my taste buds in order to alter the mixture. After all, that’s really is half the fun of baking.
Baking Is More Than Food, It’s Love
One of the main reasons that this is my favorite thing to bake is the meaning behind baking. Growing up we did not have much money to buy the newest or the greatest of objects. Baking for my mom was away for her to show how much that she cared and loved us, and it was always special when it was your favorite recipe and you got to lick the spoon and taste the sweet treats.
