Planning a wedding is beyond stressful; you have to think about the dress, the cake, the venue — I can go on for hours. The last thing on your list is the party favors, but it doesn’t have to be a simple stamp. You can make your party favors multipurpose, that way it can put a smile on your face AND keep your guests cool and comfortable in the heat, relaxed, and focused on all the excitement about your big day.
Idea number 1: Ice Cold Water and Juice
Having a few ice buckets full of bottles of iced sweet tea, juice and water would keep your guests cold and hydrated during your ceremony. Happy, cool guests make a happy atmosphere! You could also fill your ice buckets with bottled liquor, but alcohol dehydrates the body quickly so it’s best to stick with the basics. (this idea is pictured here!)
Idea number 2: Sunglasses
To prevent your guests from uncomfortably squinting into the sun during your beautiful ceremony (especially if it’s outdoors during golden hour) this is a cute idea. Providing sunglasses to each guest will prevent any strain or fatigue from happening too quickly. (idea pictured here)
Idea number 3: Handkerchiefs
To add a splash of color and personality to your favors, you can give your guests handkerchiefs. A handkerchief will allow the guest to not only dab off their sweat during their outdoor wedding, but to also allow your more emotional guests to wipe away tears. You can get super creative with this idea- using an array of fabrics, patterns and cloth. (Idea pictured here)
Idea number 4: Flip Flops
Offering some flip flops or other inexpensive shoes for your guests to dance in during your reception will prevent tired feet and flushed faces. Of course your guests come in heels to look nice and classy, but I’m sure some will be more than a little relieved to see a break from the stilettos. Flip flops are an ingenious idea because you can practically buy them anywhere in large quantities, and they add to the gleeful summertime feeling of your wedding. (Idea pictured here)
These timeless, simple ideas can go a long way as far as your guest’s experience at your wedding goes. So take these ideas and make them your own; and remember- this is your big day. Every single detail you choose counts.
