O, behemoth beast of nature
That towered tall upon the earth
And thundered like a pending storm,
You were a pinnacle since birth.
O, titan brother, large and fair,
That filled our hearts with love and pride,
No words can say the emptiness
Of you no longer at our side.
No creature could have mattered more,
Your spirit hovers in the dusk;
I hope you know that you were loved
For something other than the tusk.
O, shake the world for us again
And make us tremble as before,
And let us wonder at the sight
Of something gone forevermore.
