Allow me to introduce to you a couple of new ways to wear one of our favorite spring colors-beautiful pastel purple. Purple nails look awesome for spring, but this year we’re going to put that purple on our lips!
This year, purple lips aren’t the deep, dark purple that we wear in fall. Now it’s time for the lighter purples-those that are a bit matte, pastel, and slightly pale. You may have seen this color on MAC ads (think the shade, “Snapdragon” by MAC.). This color is super versatile and wearable for all skin tones. Don’t be put off by its unique color because that’s what makes it fun. This color is unlike anything we’re used to. And although it’s very different, it’s still beautiful.
- 1. While wearing this color, be careful not to wear super colorful eye makeup. This pale purple looks amazing with a smoky eye. Try to stay away from any eye makeup that is either colorful or pale. It can be overkill. You can even go for a nude eye-eye shadows that blend in well with your natural skin tone.
Now, even though this trendy lip color typically has a creamy or matte finish, you can always add gloss to make it even sexier. Just make sure you use a minimal amount of this color before glossing it up. Pastel purple is already intense on its own, and gloss only magnifies that.
- 2. Another way to wear purple is to line your eyes with it. You can use as light or as deep of a purple as you wish, but the key is to let the eye shadow stand on its own. Try not to add lots of other liners, eye shadows, etc. Just line the eyes with a purple eye liner or eye shadow pencil, then blend, add mascara and voila!
What’s fun about these new looks is that they can be paired with other popular spring looks. I have a funny feeling that it’s going to be a great year for spring beauty. Enjoy!
