The Transformers movie franchise has been developing blockbuster films for the past seven years and is continuing the trend with the fourth movie arriving in June 2014. Expectations are running high for the new Transformers film with the release of the latest movie trailer. While there have been a variety of the robotic heroes and villains, the fourth movie seems to bring out a whole new array of Transformers.
Galvatron is the main villain in the film and becomes the latest of the Decepticon overlords. The issue with Galvatron is that he is not from Cybertron but instead is a human creation. A scientist discovers a rare metal that composes the makeup of the Transformers and seems to begin creating a new version. The goal may be to have Transformers that can be controlled by the human population. However, it seems that this plan goes haywire at some point and Galvatron begins to conquer the world.
Galvatron appears in the latest Age of Extinction trailer emerging from a massive ship to attack Optimus Prime. The robot’s head transforms into a large cannon and begins to open fire. Obviously, the new Transformer is well armed.
Finally, the Dinobots arrive on the scene to assist the Autobots. The leader of the Dinobots is named Grimlock and transforms into a giant mechanical The trailer shows a brief moment of Optimus Prime and one of the Dinobots fighting together against a number of Decepticons. The result is a massive destruction of the evil robots in an amazing clash. The Dinobot in the main trailer is clearly Grimlock fighting alongside Optimus Prime.
Crosshairs is a new Autobot that serves as a paratrooper and transforms into a green Corvette. Crosshairs is seen in the new trailer fighting in mid-air with parachutes deployed. There is little else known about Crosshairs but it seems that he will play a significant role in the new Transformers film.
Strafe is one of the Dinobots that come to the aid of the Autobots in their battle with the Decepticons. Strafe is a ptranodon who can deliver devastating aerial attacks and may be working in conjunction with Crosshairs to provide a more powerful assault on the Decepticons. Strafe is featured very briefly in the newest trailer for Age of Extinction.
These are the primary new characters that will be featured in the latest Transformers film. The Age of Extinction comes to theaters on June 27, 2014.
