I am not a doctor, just a schoolteacher. I get headaches, I do work with over 100 children daily, but aspirin and other pain relievers hurt my sensitive stomach. I am going to share my natural prescriptions for headaches with you. Do not worry, not one of them can hurt you(unless you are allergic to any of the items). In fact, all of them can help you get rid of that pesky headache quickly, cheaply, and easily.
Take about a tablespoon of either peppermint oil or rosemary oil and massage it along the back of your neck and along your hairline. If you have a fierce headache and do not mind oily hair, actually rub the oil into your scalp. Relief will come in about 20-30 minutes.
You can purchase ginger tea at the market or you can make your own. Grind a small amount of fresh ginger root, about two teaspoons, and add the root and a slice of lemon or lime to hot water. Use an all-natural sweetener if you like the sugar taste with your tea.
Vitamin B2 has been shown to give headache relief. You can take the pill, increase your intake of hard chesses, or eat more fish.
This mineral can give pain relief when your head is throbbing. You can take the vitamin or increase your chocolate consumption. I vote for increased chocolate consumption.
All of my home remedies are safe and easy to use. The element they contain which relieves the headache is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory natural component, similar to ibuprofen, but natural. Sip, nibble, drink, massage, or heartily eat your way to relief from head pain. I love going natural in any way I can, even with headache relief.
