Mini golf is fun for everyone. It’s a great family activity, a fun date night or just good putting practice for real golfers. Los Angeles has some great miniature golf courses and here are my three favorites:
Sherman Oaks Castle Park
This classic park, featuring three full, 18-hole miniature golf courses is now owned by the City of Los Angeles and is a city park. Located near the intersection of the 101 and 405 freeways, the park is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weeknights and until midnight on weekends. The park also opens at 9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and is open until midnight every night during the summer and during school holidays. Aside from golf, they have a large batting cage and an arcade as well. Adults are $6.50, kids over four are $5.50 and replays are only $3.00. Weekend early birds, before 10:30 a.m., are also $3.00 each.

Arroyo Seco Golf Course
Minutes from Los Angeles in beautiful South Pasadena, this is a primarily an 18-hole par-3 course, originally built in 1955. Aside from the executive course, they have a nice 9-hole mini-golf course there as well. The course is only $4.00 but be warned, it’s very popular. Early morning is the best time to visit if you want to beat the crowds. The mini-golf course is open from sunrise to 10 p.m., every day.

Weddington Golf and Tennis
My last choice is more of a chip and putt course than a true miniature golf course, but since they also have a huge putting green, I think it still counts. The 9-hole par-3 course can be challenging, but it’s also a great place for kids and families to play as well. Rental clubs (7-9-putter) are only $3.00 and the green fee is $10.00 during the week, with $8.00 replays. On weekends it’s $11.00 per round with $9.00 replays.

Golf N Stuff
If you really want three, true miniature golf courses, I need to go a bit outside of Los Angeles to the city of Norwalk for the third one. Golf N Stuff is a national chain and has four 18-hole mini-golf courses at their Norwalk location. These are real fantasy courses with castles, animals, Western scenes and other fun obstacles between you and the hole. The property also has an arcade, go-kart track, bumper boats and a few other attractions and rides. Golf is $8.50 per round or a two-hour unlimited park pass is available for $18.00. The course is open from 10 a.m. to midnight, with sales stopping an hour before closing.
