I used to be so strong.
Independence was my favorite sweater that never took off.
I used to be so brave.
I’d wear it at night to keep the monsters at bay.
My sweater like a force field
Protecting me from pain.
I used to be so quick,
My tongue sharp as razors on your wrists.
What have you done to me?
Bruised and abused, you broke me.
Forced me to feel
You destroyed my favorite sweater,
Like bleach on black.
Now I’m naked and vulnerable.
I’ll never find a sweater like that.
