You know what I did yesterday after work? I decided to go visit the E3 2014 Expo. There I am playing the Super Smash Bros. game. There were hundreds of us waiting for the chance to play the game. It was intense. I finished dead last, by the way, playing with the other people there.
I literally waited with my son, who is into it, almost five hours just to play this game a couple times. It was worth the wait. I love the game. But almost five hours? That says how popular the game is, doesn’t it? So anyway, what this game’s all about, is this is kind of cartoon brawling. Hence the name, Super Smash Brothers. You can load up punches. They’ve got new characters, and I got to see some of the new characters like Mega Man, and another fun character, Little Mac with the one hit power knockout move. A lot of fun is what you’ll really be having with this game. Perfect to play with someone beside you, maybe your son. It’s also great for sibling rivalries that can include lots of trash talking. It’s a lot of fun, this game, that’s coming out later this year.
Well, Nintendo certainly does have its fanboys, and they salivate over anything with Mario, Donkey Kong, Link from Zelda, and Princess Peach. They have more than even the other big players like Xbox and PlayStation. Nintendo’s got lots of heritage right from the early ’80s. These mascot characters that we’ve all grown to love and grow up with and, of course, we buy the merchandise. And that’s really part of it, this whole gamer culture. What I saw at E3, even walking around on the show floor this week, were people dressed up as their favorite Nintendo characters. Not only that, but they also dressed up as characters from other franchises, like Master Chief from Halo for Xbox, and some of the PlayStation franchises.
It’s just fun to get in the game and live vicariously through these characters. Yeah, I agree with that, and the crowd, they’re into it. I mean I saw guys with Luigi hats on! And we’re talking young and old alike. We’re talking guys up to my age, to little ones.
