Last weekend my phone was stolen out of my husband’s car while it was parked out in front of our friend’s house. I have had my phone service through Boost Mobile for over 10 years and have no complaints. But since they are a pre-paid service provider, you have to buy the phone at its full price, which I couldn’t afford to do. My only other option was to have my husband add me on to his AT&T shared family plan and get a new phone through them. I was so upset because I absolutely did not want to switch companies, I was worried about keeping my phone number, and I am very leery of contract cell phone companies.
On Sunday, my husband and I, along with my bad attitude about the whole thing decided to go to Radio Shack to see about the phone. But after going to two different Radio Shack locations, where the employees didn’t seem to know anything about cell phone carriers or services, we decided to go to the actual AT&T store.
When we got to the AT&T store, we put our names in and looked around. There were two people ahead of us, and when I asked one of the greeters how long the wait was, she said that it was about 8 minutes. As 8 minutes turned into over 45 minutes we noticed that there were only a couple of employees helping customers. We saw at least five other employees stick their heads out of the back but no one bothered to even say anything as they disappeared again. There was another family who was right after us in line and they actually got up and walked out. Finally about four employees came back from lunch all at the same time, which didn’t make too much sense since it was a Sunday afternoon.
Once our salesperson finally came to help us, he actually managed to turn around our whole AT&T experience and save the day. He was very knowledgeable about all of the phones and the prices. He was able to get Boost Mobile to release my cell phone number and successfully get me signed up on my husband’s account with the phone I wanted. He even helped me download an app that gave me a $50 credit so that I only had to pay $30 for the taxes on the phone. The monthly prices are actually pretty good, and I really like my new Galaxy S 4 mini. My husband and I were both happy by the time we left, and thanks to the awesome customer service we received from our salesperson, we would both recommend AT&T as a good cell phone provider.
