When multi-millionaire Ted Ammons is found bludgeoned to death, the main suspects are his estranged wife and her lover in “Murder in the Hamptons.”
The attraction to Generosa Rand begins when scolded after a missed appointment. Ted Ammons is attracted to this brassy, sassy, attractive female. Generosa Rand is a real estate agent. She has scheduled a showing with Ted Ammons and another appointment is canceled due to Ted not showing.
Generosa is furious. She visits Ted’s office and strongly chastises him then recommends that he consider others feelings and time as she is not rich and needs to make money. Insinuating he does not have to worry about his money situation. Ted is immediately drawn to Generosa. He ask her out and they become a couple.
Later Generosa demands some type of commitment from Ted. He, after she refuses to see him, proposes. The couple decides later they want to begin a family. They adopt twins as Generosa seems to not be able to conceive.
Durng their first months of marriage, Generosa demonstrates some psychological issues. However Ted chalks them up to just her personality. He soon begins to realize she has major mental issues. Ted is becoming increasingly concerned about Generosa and the attacks, unfounded accusations and other control and anger issues.
When Generosa refuses to seek help for her ever evolving and continuing to grow worse anger episodes, Ted moves out of the house and later files for divorce. He however, never changes his Will nor completely finalizes the divorce to Generosa.
While Having some remodeling work done on the house she is residing in, Generosa begins to have an affair with the contractor. She spends ridiculous amounts just to spite Ted. While Ted is consistently trying to maintain some form of sensibility, he agrees to Generosa’s terms and tries to continue to see and maintain a relationship with his children the divorce is finalized.
When all is done, even as Generosa and Ted are living apart, she is still consumed in Ted and his life. He, Ted, however has gone on with his and is no longer pursuing or trying to control Generosa’s actions.
As Ted lies in bed, asleep, a camera records an image moving into the bedroom and then attacking Ted which ultimately results in his death. Later, Ted’s death is charged to Danny Pelosi, but not before Generosa is diagnosed with cancer and dies.
Men are often attracted to the very worst thing in women. As the table is turned however, women are also attracted to those attributes which later seem to come back to haunt us. That same anger and aggression demonstrated when first meeting is what ultimately destroyed the marriage of Ted and Generosa and surely led to his death.
Generosa loved Ted, but was disturbed. Her outburst at others and at him were the main reasons why it was obvious she had a mental disorder. However, she refused to seek help. Sa similar if not the same disorder disorder, but maybe just refused to admit she was suffering with the same issue.
Generosa’s mother passed when she was ten years old.”Murder in the Hamptons” is the true story of the murder of Ted Ammons.
Generosa passed never admitting she had a role in her husbands death, It is said she refused to allow the children to be sent to their aunts out of spite.
Truth is sometimes far better than fiction.
