Sometimes, life can be well, overwhelming to say the least. It can be work that gets people feeling stressed out or other things going on in their lives like situations with friends and family. There are always those things we have to do that we don’t always feel like doing like going grocery shopping or paying bills. Other aspects come naturally like taking a nice bubble bath or cleaning the house for the first time in months just because a special date is coming over. The reason we do these things is because we feel motivated. You take a nice bath because you know you are going to feel good. You get the house ready because you want to impress your date. What about the other things you want or should do but can’t find motivation? I’m going to name some common things people want to get motivated in and how to maintain them to make it worth it in the end.
I want to lose weight by exercising and eating the right foods every day but I can’t find the motivation. Make a plan for yourself. What I do is I make a list of my routine and I post it everywhere throughout the house so that I will see it everywhere I go. I also remind myself to picture the way I feel when I do stay motivated in something such as my vitamin routine. I remember to take my vitamins because I know they will help keep my skin clear and moisturized. When on your weight loss plan, try to think about the ending result and remember the way you feel when you are motivated. Make a collage or a vision board of the body you want and paste motivational words that will keep you going around the house. These may seem like small ways to get motivated but they worked for me and I believe they are worth a try.
I want to keep my house organized but as soon as I clean it, it just gets messy all over again in a short period of time. Tape yourself for a day and see what kind of habits you have in your house. You might throw your clothes on the floor when you change into your pjs or leave your dirty plate in the sink after eating. Pay attention to these habits after you have reviewed your tape and write down how you want to change them. I found that labeling my drawers helps and putting reminders on my phone to clean my plate as soon as I am done with it helps too. Remember the reason you want to keep your house clean and make those reasons your motivation to keep it clean.
I want to get better at saving my money but I’m always taking from my savings as soon as I put money in. Make a list of things that you are saving for and things you want in the future. Make this your motivation to save that money and keep it in your savings account. Section your money off into categories such as bills, food, clothes, and fun stuff. Keep a chart of how much your spend on extra things and see if you can cut back and not buy some of these things.
