What would a mom like for Mother’s Day? Could it be flowers, jewelry or chocolate? How about something you made for her from scratch, something significant and memorable? Here are a few ideas for a great Mother’s Day present:
A framed picture of someone special to her – When you think of someone special, don’t just take a selfie and text it to her. Think of people dear to her, like her mother or grandmother, a lost loved one or a picture of her when she was young. Print the picture out and frame it in a nice size frame. She will love it and always keep it around.
Help around the house – Are you a landscaper or have the equipment to pressure wash the drive way? Consider planting some roses for her or clean her yard, walk way or drive way. She will appreciate it more than you know. Mothers want things done around the house but they don’t always ask for it. Other things you can do around the house are like cleaning the house, dusting, clean the garage, wash the windows or any other things that you know she wanted to get done in a long time but never got around to it.
Create a song / poem – If you are a musician this may come easy to you. You probably even have the recording equipment available, or you may just want to play a song for her on your acoustic guitar. You could also write a poem that relates to your love for her and place it on her refridgerator. If you have children they could help decorate the card on which you wrote the poem.
A homemade cake or dinner – Are you a good baker or cook? Try your hand at something special for this Mother’s Day. Purchase the ingredients and visit with her for the day, after all she is the one to be celebrated. She will appreciate your effort and love you for wanting to spend time with her. How about some homemade ice cream?
Before you go out buying presents for your mother think of the things she really appreciates. Mother’s Day is about her and what she likes, needs, enjoys and not what is easy for us to do. If you buy her flowers, chocolate or jewelry on top of your homemade present that will only sweeten things more.
