Since my wife began using do-it-yourself facial peels last year, she has been very happy with the results. Her skin looks more radiant and she looks more beautiful than ever. She really lights up a room when she walks in. Here are her top five favorite recipes.
#5 – Pineapple and Papaya Peel
Take one papaya and one cup of chopped pineapple and combine them with a tablespoon of honey. Puree the mixture into a paste. Wash your face with warm water and apply the mixture liberally to your face. After a half an hour, wash the peel off with cold water. This peel is great for removing dead skin cells and bringing your natural complexion to the surface.
#4 – Tomato Peel
Puree two medium-size tomatoes until they reach paste consistency, being careful not to over-puree. You don’t want it to turn into juice. Apply the paste to your face and let it sit for 20 minutes to a half of an hour and them wash it off with cold water. This tomato peel is great for dry skin and can be repeated as often as needed when your skin needs extra help or has become very damaged.
#3 – Orange and Lemon Juice
This peel is great when you need to add some color to a pale face. An excellent choice when winter weather or other factors keep you inside for extended periods. Combine a tablespoon of honey with a teaspoon of orange juice and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Rub the liquid into your face and let it sit for a half an hour, then wash it off with cold water.
#2 – Banana Peel
Bananas are excellent combatant of oily skin. Take one whole banana, peeled, and combine it with a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of orange juice. Puree the mixture until it reaches a paste-like consistency and apply it to your face for about twenty minutes, then wash it off with cold water. My wife says that this one feels great on her skin and she loves the aroma as well.
#1 – Coffee Peel
The coffee peel earns the number one spot because of the awesome job that it does in tightening your face and removing fine lines. Take three tablespoons of used coffee grounds and combine them with two tablespoons of yogurt and a tablespoon of honey. Mix well and apply it to your face for a half an hour and then rinse it off with cold water. You’ll be amazed!
