Scrapbooks are great for gifts and keeping memories for years to come. But as a busy woman on the go, I don’t have time to sit and thumb through memory lane. Scrapbooks became a dusty pile that had to be moved from time to time, so I started creating Love Frames. Now, I am surrounded by my memories and loved ones all the time. Here’s how to create one of your own.
Simple…A picture frame or a collage frame or even a poster frame, some tape or glue, your memories, and your imagination are all that you need.
Again, very simple: Once you’ve decided on a frame, lay out your pictures or whatever material you will be displaying in a fun, creative pattern. This is where your imagination comes into play. Your creation is limited only by you.
Mix and match pictures with whatever else you feel like adding. I like to use die-cuts of related shapes or animals to write descriptions on and sometimes quotes or anecdotes and even stickers to decorate. Think of it as if you’re putting a scrapbook page in a frame.
Take your time and move the pieces around to create the best image. Once you think the presentation is perfect, then glue or tape everything down. Remember, there is no wrong; there is only you, expressing yourself.
The picture attached shows one that I created for my husband. It was made using pictures and events from the summer of 2011 when his two children came to spend the summer with us. We went to many places and had picked up brochures and maps from each place. Instead of packing up those memories away in a drawer or a scrapbook, I made a Love Frame to display them. Now he can look at them all the time as they hang on the wall and remince about that wonderful summer..
Hanging up pictures is fine, but remember to go one step further. Hang up memories.
