Coastal living, and living near the Ocean has been a lifelong dream of mine. My problem through my 32 years of marriage was that I had an addiction to alcohol that stopped me from achieving that life long dream of living life near the Ocean.
In 2009 I stopped drinking alcohol and my dreams of living near the Ocean started to become closer and closer as the months went by.
It was about a year of continued sobriety when my wife came up with an idea of how we could make our dream of Coastal Living come true.
We decided to sell everything we had, including the home we just remodeled, the home that I grew up in as a child and young adult. My toys went for sale, including my Corvette, boat, motorcycle and my 4×4 truck. I knew that everything had to be sold in order to get all the balances of those loans paid off, and to be able to start from scratch.
Starting from scratch is exactly what we did. We bought a double wide Modular Home that needed a total remodel, but that didn’t matter because we knew we would smelling that salt air from the Bay and Ocean right up the street once we moved in full time.
The work involved was well worth the final ending of both of us living in our own little paradise. Coastal Living sure can make a stressed person mellow right out. When we are stressed, and just down in the dumps for one reason or another we head to the beach and sit on our chairs watching the waves breaking on the beach, and the Sea Gulls making their distinct sounds and flying overhead, and the smell of the Ocean air is enough to completely relax anyone.
There is nothing better than to be able to get in your car at any giving time and to be on the beach within minutes. Truly something that money can’t buy in my eyes.
