This subject really intrigues me. I don’t believe it is light VS darkness, that it is a war, or a battle. Instead I believe it is two forces working together, side by side. There is a dependency, on each other, to reach that common goal. It is “a dance”. Always dancing beautifully together, whether it be a slow dance, fast dance, whether the music is big band or heavy metal. You choose the dance. Even if you don’t dance, that’s okay too. You are still part of the show
Are light and dark two forces at work, with the same goal? Do they each have their own “JOB” to do? Do they each “NEED” to be seen as equal partners? Sounds like a “MARRIAGE” doesn’t it??? You have to answer these questions for yourself, but for me, I answer yes to all these questions, just based on my personal observations, and experiences in my own life, which I will explain later.
Light and dark ARE DIFFERENT, it’s true. It is their DIFFERENCES however that make their relationship work, that make it beautiful, and “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” right??? ;) They are tied to each other, you cannot have one without the other. After all you cannot see the stars without the night sky and cannot appreciate the beauty of the night without the stars.
Oprah Winfrey is a great example of light and dark working together! When she got fired from her anchor job, it started her on the path she is on today. One could see the firing as a “dark spot”, but still, it propelled her IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION, to where she is now. Do you think looking back, she is glad she got fired??? I would say so!!! One thing I love about Oprah, is she NEVER appears to view herself as a “victim”. She is always progressive and looking forward.
I’ve seen light and dark in my relationships as well, where one is the foundation, the “keep the home fires burning” type, (my Mom) along side the one bringing home the bacon so to speak. (my Dad). One in the background, “in the dark”, the other one out front, “in the light”. These roles overlap today and they can be male or female. Still they work beautifully together. Different roles, same goal, equal partners! Sometimes it appears there is an ‘IMBALANCE” in the light and darkness in the form of marriage, family, or relationship problems. It may feel like things are being torn apart instead of being built. “ADJUSTMENTS” in thinking may need to be made, (keep Oprah in mind), the goals of light and dark still remain the same, they are always “steering you” to YOUR greater good and new things.
I love to dance, and ballroom dancing is one of my favorite kinds. I have experienced the parallels of light and dark in dancing as well. I can see it and feel it very well. The MAN IN BLACK, leading his lady in the waltz or foxtrot, showing off his “beautiful flower”, in her beautiful flowing dress, floating around the dance floor, all eyes are on her, as her man wants it. He gladly hides in “her shadow” putting the spot light on her. A PERFECT BALANCE. But we cannot help but wonder……who is this “dashing man”??? How gallant he is!
I see it a little differently in the Tango. A dance of FRICTION, heat, and passion. Both, trying to be in control, neither wanting to submit to the other. This friction creates a beautiful picture of love and passion. Light and dark, (positive and negative energy) together. I would say there is some serious energy at work here, with the friction, and those sparks flying!!! ;) Nice!!!! Remember, it takes two!!! It goes to show you, there can even be PERFECT BALANCE where there “appears” to be friction. Who knew! :D Sometimes the perfection can be found in the “imperfection”!!! The lines are “blurred” sometimes, but if it evokes the right feelings in you, and makes you happy, that is all that matters.
The Rumba, is my favorite dance to do. I love the slow, sensual, movements of the female, the man pulling her close to him, wanting her next to his body. You feel the “heat” in this dance. They are together, “making love”, in the “dark”, on the dance floor, and their “heat”, (their “passion), is the “light” that you see and feel. You cannot help but feel drawn to them. “UNSPOKEN” things, that evoke such powerful emotions, that “MOVE” us, all without speaking a word. I love that!!! No wonder I love dancing so much!!! :D
Last of all, look at how our universe and the Earth have evolved. Look how far the light and dark, (the positive and negative energy), have gotten us. We are always moving forward, tearing down boundaries, and building new things, always for the better. Can you even imagine what that next quantum leap will be? Based on how far we have come, I bet it will be GRAND! If that doesn’t tell you light and dark are equal “partners in crime”, for the GOOD OF ALL, I don’t know what will!!! :D
The beauty and the power of the stars is inside you, you are made of stardust, the SKY’S THE LIMIT! No wonder we are always wanting to “SEE” things better, wanting something new and different, and always REACHING HIGHER! It is because that is where we came from, where we belong!!! We are already wired for greatness!!! It is part of the plan! Doesn’t that seem to fit? I think so! Then the puzzle will be complete!
The light and dark are always working together, helping us to “SEE” things better and “STEERING” us away from what we don’t want to see. There are SO MANY various situations this applies too in all of our lives. Think in terms of your own life and I am sure you will start to see “THE PARALLELS” of light and dark. It may “SEEM” like they are not “FRIENDS” sometimes, but none the less, they are friends. Take a moment to pause. Do you see it?
I know this “light and dark” thing all sounds so deep and serious. On a lighter note, in my defense, I am a Pisces, the fish, and I tend to run deep. ;) You know what they say about still water! :D I was also born on the cusp of Aquarius, an air sign, and my Mom and Dad were air signs, so I can get pretty dreamy too! :D But I never want to stop dreaming anyway!!! So you see, I cannot help it! :D
