If a world map of general human satisfaction could be drawn, things to be considered would be general human health, happiness, love, success, peace, joy and whatsoever any other deems necessary for his cup of life satisfaction to be filled. According to http://www.who.int, more than 800,000 people die from suicide every year and this roughly corresponds to one death every 40 seconds. It also states that suicide is among the three leading causes of death among those aged 15-44 years in some countries, and the second leading cause of death in the 10-24 years age group. These figures do not include suicide attempts which can be many times more frequent than suicide (10, 20, or more according to some studies). Suicide worldwide was estimated to represent 1.3% of the total global burden of disease in 2004. The above statistics is just an example out of the many that shows a world full of people who are not satisfied with life. Some are willing to end the life lived by them rather than continue with it for they find it difficult, if not impossible to live it to the full. The question to be asked is this. What is life to the full?
Life to the full is a life that satisfies the liver of that life. As it can be seen from wikipedia’s definition of life satisfaction. Life satisfaction is the way a person perceives how his life has been and how they feel about where it is going in the future. It is a measure of well-being and may be assessed in terms of mood, satisfaction with relations with others and with achieved goals, self-concepts, and self-perceived ability to cope with daily life. It is having a favorable attitude of one’s life as a whole rather than their current feelings. Life satisfaction has been measured in relation to economic standing, amount of education, experiences, and the people’s residence as well as many other topics. Most global villagers are not satisfied with their lives for several reasons.
People as shown by Kathy Caprino, on http://www.huffingtonpost.com, are able to make life changes if they have a sufficient dose of clarity, confidence, courage and commitment. Those four ingredients if in the right direction, can make all the difference between a life lived to the full and the other case, an unsatisfactory life. The lack of these ingredients in a life makes it impossible for it to be lived to the full. Even though most of us global villagers live a life that is not to the full, it is possible for any life to be lived to the full.
When we know how to get from New York to Lagos, are able to take the actions that would enable us get to Lagos, we will surely get to Lagos. The solution to a life lived below the full is to follow the way to a life lived to the full. The problem now is the fact that most global villagers do not know the way to a life lived to the full. What then is this way? The way to a life lived to the full is surely available, if not Mathew 7 verse 14 would not say there is a way to life.
The way to a life lived to the full, are those steps and actions or paths that if taken or followed would lead to a desired state of life. When steps are taken for a life to be lived to the full, then life satisfaction can come in, suicidal thoughts and suicide itself would be avoided, our mood or satisfaction with our relations with others and with our achieved goals would be satisfactory. Our self-concepts, and self-perceived ability to cope with daily life, would be satisfactory to us. At that state of life, where clarity, confidence, courage and commitment are the order of the day, then life is surely lived to the full.
All global villagers have a life to live. Is this life lived to the full? Statistics of people who rather die and do actually kill themselves shows to what extent people are not satisfied with life. This is because life, is not lived to the full. If life is satisfactory to the liver of that life, then he surely has a sufficient dose of clarity, confidence, courage and commitment in the right direction. That is, if they be based on the true way to clarity, confidence, courage, and commitment. There is a way to living life to the full, which if followed would lead to all those good moods like happiness, joy, peace, love, plus some wonderful relations with others and with achieved goals, satisfactory self-concepts, and an acceptable self-perceived ability to cope with daily life. With this in place, that state of life wherein you are now is surely being lived to the full.
