One of the premier local late night dining experiences is at the The Broadmoor’s Penrose Room, which offers the only five-star, five-diamond restaurant in Colorado. It offers three and four-course menus or the Chef’s Tasting menu and caters to the night owls with reservations for dinner taken until 11:30 p.m. Located on the top floor of Broadmoor South, enjoy your food with a spectacular view of Cheyenne Mountain along with live entertainment and dancing. An extensive European wine list is available. Jackets are required for gentlemen.
A short stroll from the Penrose Room and you’re at what was once an authentic 19th century English Pub, the Golden Bee, 1 Lake Avenue, in southwest Colorado Springs. The Bee’s famous Fish & Chips, yards of ale and lots of British charm keep the locals coming back and are just a few of the reasons to make a late night visit to this lively pub. The food is excellent pub fare at a reasonable price and served 11:30 a.m., to midnight weekdays and until 1:30 a.m. on weekends. Enjoy live piano music from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., then join a modern classics sing-along with the ragtime piano player.
Now, let’s travel north to BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, located at 5150 N. Nevada Avenue in the University Village shopping center. BJ’s menu features a delicious innovative spin on your favorite foods, including pizzas, salads, sandwiches, pastas, steaks and baby back ribs just to name a few. BJ’s own handcrafted beer compliments your food and the root beer will please the kids. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday – Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
On the East side of town is Frankie’s Bar and Grill since 1984 at 945 North Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs and 7376 McLaughlin Road, Falcon, CO. This neighborhood tavern and grill offers delicious food, good service and fair prices. Frankie’s is a casual place to relax with business clientele or grab a bite to eat with the family and a place for the late night crowd.
If you are in downtown Colorado Springs, check out Phantom Canyon Brewery at 2 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, located in the historic Cheyenne Building, where fun, good food and games are all on tap until well after midnight.
Colorado Springs has a lot to offer late night diners. I have named just a few, now go out and enjoy.
