No tea party is complete without a fun party favor for each of the guests. You could go with generic trinkets or candies, but themed party favors are more fun for everyone. Here are some tea party favor ideas to get you started.
Why not send each guest home with her own tea set? You don’t have to get an expensive version. Find some inexpensive plastic tea sets at the dollar store to save money. Or give each girl a special tea cup that is all her own. Add a few candies or other small items inside the tea cup and wrap it in tulle.
Dress Up Clothes
Fancy clothes and tea parties go hand-in-hand. Head to the dollar store for some fun dress up accessories for each guest. Beads, gloves and fancy hats are easy options. You could also get each girl a little purse with nail polish or other little items inside. Set out the accessories on a table before the guests arrive. They can wear them to the party and then take them home at the end as their favors.
Flowers are another common decoration used at tea parties. Use potted flowers as the table centerpieces. Find some bright tea cups to use as the flower pots to fit the theme. At the end of the tea party, each of the guests can bring home her own potted flower. You can also use cut flowers, but the potted option lasts longer. Or give each girl a flower pot and a packet of flower seeds so she can plant her own.
Another option is to send the guests home with some edible treats that fit the tea party theme. Make scones, cookies or biscuits for the guests. Or make sugar cookies shaped like tea cups. Wrap up the treats in cellophane. Add a few bags of tea as decorations on the package of treats.
Fabric Tea Bags
Make your own fabric tea bags to encourage pretend play in the guests. Cut pieces of white fabric to make the tea bag and squares of colored fabric for the tab. Add stuffing and sew the bags and tags. Connect them with a thick piece of thread. This favor option works well when paired with a tea cup or full tea set.
