There was a lot of talk about Juan Pablo’s inappropriate remarks made to several of the ladies of “The Bachelor” TV show for the 2014 season. Controversy can help ratings, and questioning what he said makes good tabloid, blog, and chat room material. However, Juan Pablo just does not understand what The Bachelor Nation is about. Fans want relationship excitement from this show, whether that relationship is good or bad, and Juan Pablo is not capable of a relationship.
The Bachelor Nation
Chris Harrison uses the term “Bachelor Nation” to describe the phenomena that has been created from followers of “The Bachelor” TV show. My wife and I have become fans of this show. We love to rate the relationships, make wagers on which ones will work, and what happens on the show even makes us appreciate our relationship more. We enjoy hearing follow-ups on what has happened.
Juan Pablo does not want to be a member of the Bachelor Nation, so he should not have gone on the show. In the “After The Final Rose” segment he said he wants privacy. Shawn responded to him by letting him know that is not what he signed up for. He is part of the Bachelor family whether he likes it or not.
Showing disrespect and using offensive language to bachelorettes is bad enough. If you look up synonyms of the word inappropriate, you find words like unacceptable, wrong, or tasteless. Not only did Juan Pablo cause this to those participating in the show, but he created grief to those watching it.
It is understandable that true love might not be found by The Bachelor. Those who remember Brad know that a relationship may not happen in the end. Juan Pablo did worse by trying to deny fans the opportunity to enjoy follow up to the fact he cannot say the words “I love you.”
Happily Ever After
A reality show is great entertainment because this is not a romantic script where everyone lives happily ever after. Fans know the show has real people living real lives. We saw Deana and Melissa have a terrible relationship experience from the show, yet read later in the news they found true love outside of the show.
Juan Pablo thinks he can be a lover boy then ride off in the sunset in privacy. How dare he treat those in Bachelor Nation with such inappropriate behavior.
