My daughter and I watched and loved Juan Pablo on “The Bachelorette” with Desiree. When he and Des had the movie date, it was clear that Juan Pablo was a charmer, aside from his good looks. When they announced that he would be the next bachelor we were thrilled and excited for the season to begin!
Then as we watched “The Bachelor”, things seemed to go downhill. We began to notice that Juan Pablo was a bit patronizing to the women and it continued to worsen. Everyone seemed to receive the “it’s fine”, “it’s okay”, or similar response to their concerns and often times, their intense expressions of emotion.
As the show continued it was obvious that the connection he had with Clare was physical and not much more. We were not surprised when he uttered his “offensive” sexual comment to her in the helicopter on their last date. Honestly, we were more surprised that either it did not happen sooner or that she did not figure it out before then.
Finally, Juan Pablo made his choice – Nikki. Nikki was a good choice for him because they seemed to have more in common than just a physical attraction. But, when we watched the finale and the two sat on the couch together it was very clear that the relationship would not be a happy ending. We cannot see it going any further than it exists right now. Juan Pablo’s inability to express or show a true emotion for her should be enough for anyone to see that.
Juan Pablo’s elusiveness, rudeness, and selfishness appear to have made him one of the most disliked bachelors in history. Is that the real Juan Pablo? Only few people probably know the answer to that question. The fact that he displayed himself that way on the show is what is putting him in a bad light and upsetting former Juan Pablo fans.
All of this adds up to a huge disappointment in Juan Pablo. We thought he was some lucky woman’s Prince Charming. Was the charm an act? It feels as though Juan Pablo used honestly as an excuse to be rude and that is certainly not a charming or gentlemanly trait.
In the beginning we hoped that Juan Pablo would find true love. In the end, we hoped he would get told off by the women who spent months on the show; especially those who fell for him.
