Johnson’s Baby Shampoo has been around for as long as I can remember and I used to use it on my children when they were little because of the “no more tears” formula. There are enough tears when bathing children without having to worry about it stinging their eyes if they get water in their eyes. I loved Johnson’s Baby Shampoo then and I love it now for my latest baby, my 10 yr old Cairn Terrier Riley.
The shampoo is a gentle formula shampoo designed to be used by babies, but really it can be used on adults or anyone looking for a gentle formula shampoo. It is a golden color and has a light pleasant scent. I often have a problem with scents and this one does not bother me at all. The liquid is thick enough to not run out of your hand before you get to use it but mixes well with water to a nice lather. I have a larger bottle of baby shampoo, but like to use this small travel size which I keep refilling from the larger bottle. The small bottle has a flip up top with a spout so it is quite convenient. It holds 1.5oz of shampoo.
Using Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
When my kids were small I used to love this shampoo because I could wash their hair in the bathtub and when I rinsed it out, it did not sting their eyes if they got some in their eyes. It is nearly impossible to wash and rinse a baby’s hair without getting some water in their eyes.
Years later when my dog with allergies was reacting to every soap I tried, I decided to try the baby shampoo. I tried many dog shampoos even ones designed for dogs with allergies and some from the vet. They all made my dog itch like crazy. When I tried Johnson’s we had no itching afterward so we have been using it ever since.
I first got the small travel size when we were going to be living in a hotel for a while during a move. I figured it would be easier to deal with than the larger container. I found it was so much easier to deal with that I am still using it today, three years later. I just refill the little bottle when it is empty. It is nice using this small bottle because I can just throw it on the bottom of the laundry sink where I bathe my dog and it is not in the way of my dog.
When I bathe Riley with this shampoo I like that it gets him nice and clean but does not irritate his skin. I also like that it only leaves a very light scent if I rinse him really well. I think part of the problem that I had with the other shampoos that I used on him was that they never completely rinsed out.
This shampoo has been around for as long as I can remember and I have been using it on my children and my dog for over 25yrs. I would not be surprised if my Mother used it on me when I was a baby. I would recommend Johnson’s Baby Shampoo with Confidence for Babies and for your pets with sensitive skin.
