Adrian Pickett Art Gallery

My first visit to the Adrian Pickett Art Gallery left me awestruck. How could a human so accurately recreate subjects? It didn’t seem possible. I moved closer and closer to each work allowing my eyes the fullest opportunity to inspect each piece. You’ll likely do the same. Visitors to this gallery will enjoy the warmth of the space. It is skillfully adorned with the work of Mr. Pickett. His visions in charcoal draw you in and fill you with wonder. The gallery itself is housed inside the Jacksonville Landing which is readily accessible by public transportation. It also has plentiful parking and riverside docking.
The Art Center Cooperative

The Art Center Cooperative main gallery is a vibrant and distinctive space set in downtown Jax. While parking can sometimes be a challenge in this area there are many public transportation options. The city bus and skyway both have stops within feet of the facility. Once inside the gallery visitors will be excited by the varied disciplines featured. The Art Center displays the work of over twenty different artists. This makes every visit to the Center a fresh experience. The space itself is open, with lots of natural light which adds a special ambiance to the viewing experience. The Cooperative also offers classes and workshops for those that want to do more than view art.
The Southlight Gallery

Southlight Gallery provides the quintessential gallery experience minus the pretention. The space is vast, yet not overwhelming. It features the work of nearly thirty local, regional and national artists. Expect to see a diverse sampling of work in various mediums. Returning visitors to Southlight might feel as if each visit is to a new gallery, as the displays are updated frequently. One month the space might be dominated by plein air pieces while sculptures may rule the roost in the following. This space seems to vibrate with energy on busy days so bring your entourage for a fun day of art. Southlight is located in downtown Jax so expect to either search or pay for parking. Public transportation is also readily available to this location.
FSCJ North Campus Art Gallery

If you crave a dose of the collegiate with your art then the North Campus gallery is for you. This gallery is located on the North campus of Florida State College at Jacksonville. Tucked away on Jacksonville’s north side it is definitely off the beaten path, but, well worth the trip. North Campus Gallery features the work of faculty members, students, regional, and national artists. This location boasts a feast of variety both in artistic offerings and the layout of the facility itself. Equipped with floating walls and masterful lighting, the space can be transformed as needed to best display the artists’ work. The featured exhibitions change on a near monthly basis. Visitors to this gallery will enjoy the efficient use of space around each piece that allows a viewer to linger and absorb the work without obstructing the piece from others. This gallery is on the bus line, but, parking is plentiful so driving in for long unhurried visit is ideal.
