Many of us homeowners believe in home improvement projects and any secret to upholding the beauty of our homes. One of the first things other home owners judge about another home is the landscape. Manicured lawns are great to have, especially when they are nicely watered. When you as a homeowner are unable to keep up with the watering of the grass every evening or didn’t get that forecasted rain, here is your solution. A sprinkler system is perfect to have because it does the work for you after proper installation. This article will disclose some of the trials and tribulations of installing a sprinkler system and more importantly how to keep a manicured lawn up to par.
Always check for the proper piping, it allows the sufficiency for the most efficient fluidity of the water. Personally I didn’t take the proper protocol for the piping in my yard and I had to learn the hard way. I strongly advise that you have a schematic of the piping that runs through and around your property.
Measure Perimeter of Lawn
Measuring the perimeter of your lawn ensures the amount of sprinklers that you will need to replenish your lawn. By not measuring you risk installing too many sprinklers and over watering of your lawn or even worse not enough sprinklers leaving your lawn dry. I took the time out to measure the area around my lawn and got the exact amount of sprinklers that I needed.
Make Specific Spots for Sprinklers
Giving the sprinklers a predetermined spot ensures the amounts of water that your grass will receive in specific areas. Doing this last minute will only put the lawn at risk of unequal distribution of water. Following this procedure lowers that risk and leaves your lawn with that much more chance of keeping its beauty.
Sprinklers On & Off Rate
Most importantly set your sprinkler system for specific times to run. By doing this your grass will receive the best care even when you are not home. I set my sprinkler system to run in the evenings when I arrive back from work and also in the mornings when I depart for work. It’s up to you to determine the best schedule for your lawn.
The tips disclosed above are nothing more than simple procedures in keeping your lawn manicured. Taking the initiative can make a big difference from a decent lawn from an elite lawn.
