Unsatisfied with the cost of my monthly cell phone bill and tired of paying for services I rarely used, I contacted my cell phone provider in the hopes of getting a better deal. Through carefully explanation of my cell phone needs and a reminder of my loyalty as a customer, I was offered both a plan and a price that were satisfactory. In a short 15-minute phone conversation, I cut my cell phone bill by more than half while keeping all of the service I required.
Evaluate Cell Phone Needs
Every few months I evaluate my cell phone usage and the available plans offered by my cell phone carrier. I want to ensure that I am getting the most value for my dollar while still meeting all of my cell phone needs. Although the plan I had was the most appropriate out of the provider’s available plans; it wasn’t quite what I needed. After a few minutes he was back with a new offer. The new plan was exactly what I was looking for and happened to be half the price of my old plan.
While I was still on the phone I tried one more negotiating tactic to reduce my bill. Available discounts. I had been with the same cell phone provider for several years and had completed my contract agreement. The representative mentioned that I might qualify for a loyal customer discount. After another minute on hold while he verified eligibility, he was back with good news. The loyal customer discount saved another $10 off of my monthly bill.
The 15 minutes I spent on the phone with a cell phone carrier representative cut my bill down more than half. I ended the call a happy and loyal customer.
