It’s easy to get stuck in a beauty rut! How many times do you walk away from the mirror wearing a professional (boring) makeup ensemble even when you aren’t headed to the office? If you’d like a pretty, party face without all the crazy eyeshadow, you can brighten your eyes with multiple colored eyeliners. As a professional makeup artist, I love using this technique to make those eyes sparkle-or smolder. You don’t have to wear a single eyeliner-wear multiple eyeliners like a pro and get the look you want.
Apply these 5 makeup tips for wearing multiple colored eyeliners:
Wear the makeup in the same order on both eyes. If you apply green eyeliner to the top and blue on the bottom of the left eye, do the same for the right eye. If you apply eye crayons at random, you’ll get a messy-looking result.
If you have thin top lashes, keep the black eyeliner on the top. Use a bold blue, bright green or vivid purple under the eye.
Open up the eye with an application of white eyeliner on the water line. Alternatively, you can finish your look with just white eyeliner in the inner corners of the eye.
Make the color of your eyes appear more intense by applying the complementary color above and below the pupil. For example, if you have green eyes wear purple eyeliner above and below the pupil. Wear dark green on the outer corners and black on the inner corners.
Pull together a night time look by applying black eyeliner to the water line. Black makes everything better.
You can wear multiple eyeliner colors without looking like a toddler applied your makeup. Remember to limit the sparkly eyeliner to just one color, if at all.
