Having a young boy with a birthday coming up can be a real struggle. Not only is it the parents responsibility to buy a present, but throw them a party as well. Little elementary school boys are likely to have a lot of friends and parents to come along with those friends; so on top of the present this can get to be a real hefty bill. First off buy in bulk! I repeat BUY IN BULK! Costco is a great place to go if looking for large amounts of cups, plates, sodas, or foods as well. They have gigantic bags of tortilla chips and huge cans of nacho cheese that will make a perfect appetizer or snack for the party. On top of that they have huge pizzas made fresh all day long at the food section that are not to pricey either. My number one go to place when having a party is Costco hands down! Another thing is entertainment. When having so many kids in one place they will need to be kept entertained so that they do not destroy anything. Clowns, magicians, and that sort of entertainment can be pricey and are kind of over used. Look on the news paper advertisements or online for different rates of jumpers. Get a few different people on the phone and they will fight to give you the lowest prices. There is a variety of assorted jumpers that you can get depending on what your child is interested in. On hot summer days the jumpers with running water and a pool at the end are great. But if you have sporty kid you can not go wrong with the arcade style jumpers. I am talking about basketball court jumpers, football toss jumpers, and my favorite the gauntlet. For kids it is a blast and honestly not very expensive and it will keep them busy for the whole time. Another place to cut corners is the drinks. Soda is great, but the kids would also love some fruit punch. Any store carries a gallon of the fruit punch mix or syrup and it is very simple to make. Most of the time the kids are running around so much they don’t care what they drink! The last thing to worry about is the pinata. Candy bags are a hassle and no one wants to waist all day on putting them together. Go to a small Hispanic store and pick out your sons favorite cartoon character or sports team and throw in a few bags of candy and you will be good to go. Remember, you do not need to spend your life savings to have a little fun!
