Of all the women I know, my older cousin Kara was the first (of my generation) to have a baby. We threw a baby shower for her, of course, and joining my sister and me on the guest list were our mother, aunts, and many of Kara’s older friends. Almost everyone showed up with diapers.
The High Price of Diapers
My sister and I, in fact, were the only ones who didn’t, and we quietly wondered at all those diapers. Why did anyone think Kara would appreciate that? There are, after all, few gifts less glamorous than diapers.
When the baby came, though, and I realized how expensive diapers were, and I regretted getting Kara that baby stroller.
Sources for Inexpensive Diapers
Over many years of caring for babies, I’ve learned my lesson, and now I never miss an opportunity to pick up an inexpensive pack of diapers.
One great source is the aptly named Diapers.com. As you’d expect from a website with such a to-the-point name, they have a great collection of diapers.
A popular diaper brand, Pampers, offers great online deals if you become a member. Personally, I haven’t, but my sister has and she says it’s definitely worth it. She’s also more than ready to vouch for the quality of their diapers.
Her other favorite diaper brand is Huggies, which also has some great online deals. They don’t have the membership program that Pampers does, but if you go to their website you’ll find an abundance of coupons you can use. I love Huggies, as I tend to be a big fan of coupons.
At the risk of being obvious, I’d also like to suggest Amazon.com. You can find most things cheap on Amazon if you look hard enough, and this is as true of diapers as it is of anything else. Plus, Amazon Mom is a great program for savings.
Lastly, I recommend you investigate Baby Cheapskate. Using this website, you can save a lot of money on not only diapers, but many other baby essentials as well.
