Now we love going to those Sunday dinners at our grandmother’s house. But there is absolutely no comparison to any restaurant to grandma’s fried chicken. They may come close, but it still is there. In this article, I am going to teach you how to make my grandmother’s fried chicken wings. Shh… Don’t tell her.
• pack of raw chicken wings (if you don’t have wings any chicken will do)
• mild or hot buffalo sauce (preferably Texas Pete)
• 3 big bowls
• crushed rep pepper
• deep fryer or frying pan
• vegetable oil or grease
Take one big bowl and put your raw chicken inside of it. Put it under a sink faucet. Run warm water on the chicken wings. Make sure all of the blood is out of the chicken wings.
Take one of the big bowls and fill it up with flour. Take your salt, pepper, and crushed red peppers and put them in your flour. How much salt, pepper, and crushed red peppers to use is all up to you. When I use salt, pepper, and crush pepper I just use about a dash in each. Take the spoon and stir the mixture.
Fill the last of the big bowls all the way up with mild or hot buffalo sauce. I love spicy foods so I choose hot. But choose whatever satisfies you.
Take all of the chicken wings and submerge them in the big bowl with the buffalo sauce in it. Make sure the chicken wings are fully drenched with buffalo sauce.
If using a deep fryer fill it up with vegetable oil or grease. But do not over fill. Turn it on to medium setting. If using a frying pan fill it up with about a cup and a half of vegetable oil or grease. Turn it on to medium setting.
Take the chicken wings that were submerged in the buffalo sauce and put them in the mix of flour, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Cover them with the mixture. Make sure you cover ever inch of the chicken wings with the flour based mixture.
Once the grease is heated in the deep fryer use the tongs to put the chicken wings in the grease. Cook the chicken wings until they are golden brown. If using frying pan flip chicken wings over in grease until they are golden brown.
Turn off frying pan or deep fryer. Take a big bowl and put a paper towel in it. Take the chicken wings from the grease and put them in the bowl with the paper towel in it. The paper towel’s purpose is to absorb the grease.
Now enjoy! So I gave you my grandmas recipe for her best fried chicken wings. But don’t tell anyone you got it from me. Make these chicken wings for your mother, grandmother, or girlfriend and I swear they will be jealous.
