Women today easily change their boyfriends as easy as they change shoes. They break up with one guy and cry about it for a while, but then a few days pass and you see her happily doing a “selfie” on her Instagram or Facebook page with her new “love.”
The word love has been overplayed on television and in romance novels that today’s generation seem oblivious of its true meaning. We say “I love you.” just to anyone without really knowing what it truly means.
When you are young, it is fun to go from one flame to another, living the free-love lifestyle. But as you come to a certain age, believe me, you will be longing for something more. You will be seeking for something deeper and more meaningful than just getting someone to spend the night with you. One day you will realize that you want things to slow down and you would want to have someone to come home to and call him yours exclusively.
The next question is, how do you know if he is “the one?” They say that we all have our soul mate, the other half of our being. But in our modern world where people grow up in broken homes and dysfunctional families, the idea of finding your one true love has been diminished into a fairy tale.
Just like in the lyrics of the song “The Only Exception” there are many non-believers of love out there. But no matter how hard you run away from love, it will happen whether you like it or not. You will know if he is the one the moment you touch his hand. You will feel that electricity, that magical moment when things slow down and your mind goes blank for a moment. And from that day on you cannot sleep, you cannot eat and all you can see is his face everywhere you go.
This may seem corny and out of a romance movie now to people who have not experienced this. But one day you will understand when it does happen to you.
