Can cozies are a fun idea for summer. When your drink is ice cold you may want something else to hold on to. With the added benefit of being fun as well as insulating for your can. Who can go wrong. These whip up in a couple of minutes! Perfect for those summer bbqs!
Worsted Weight yarn
K/ 6.5 mm crochet hook.
Hdc- Half double crochet
Sc- Single Crochet
Chain 24, Join chain without twisting.
Round 1. Ch2, Hdc around and join to chain ( 24)
Round 2. Ch1, Sc around and join to chain ( 24)
Rept rounds 1 and 2 for a total of 6 rounds ending with your sc round. This will keep your cozy nice and tight.
You can choose to make it longer but i find a 6 row cozy to be a great basic length.
Cut yarn and weave in all ends.
This is only a basic cozy that fits soda cans and the like size cans. No special stitches or decorative stitching is done. Although you can stripe your hdc and sc rows for a very fun stripey look. This is a simple guide to making your own cute can cozies.
