Oftentimes we feel the stress of heavy work loads. The work day seems frenetic with constant interruptions. You move throughout the day as quickly as you can, but by the end of the day, you still feel unproductive. By the end of the day, you feel exhausted and edgy. Worse, you may have overlooked something important. You need to clear your mind but you are not sure what steps to take. Here are some great tips on how to clear your mind.
1. Five minutes of physical activity
Although your blood is already pumping from running around the office all day trying to get task completed. May experts suggest taking a five-minute walk or run to clear the mind. By separating yourself from the action, you are also also able to free your mind and let go of issues that my require immediate attention. This will not only improve your mood, but it will also break the stress that is associated with it.
2. Four minutes of gratitude
Now that you have slowed things down a bit, it is easier to come to grips with its purpose. Remember why you are doing what you do and the purpose of it. Use this time to reflect on what is important to you and how grateful you are for having certain individuals in your life. Be happy for great health and wonderful opportunities.
3. Three minutes of meditation
Now that your body is in a positive state of mind, you can begin working on clearing the mind. Meditation is probably one of the best ways to clear the mind. Some people love to pray while others just sit and think about nothing. Whatever works for you, do it.
4. Two minutes of silence
Locate a place where you sit and without any distractions. Being out in nature underneath a tree, or even sitting in your car can provide you with the silence you need. Focus on remaining calm. Make sure the cell phone is off and there are no distractions. Having a few minutes of silence can do wonders for the mind.
If you return back to the office and you find yourself in chaos again, consider following these same tips on how to clear your mind. If you can not leave the office, consider one minute breathing exercises or just closing your eyes and sitting in silence for a couple of minutes.
