In this article, I will teach you how to breed your dog. Whether you want to have a bundle of cute puppies or if you decide on selling them for a profit, here is how you should do it.
For male dog owners, it is pretty easy. You just have to find another dog owner with a female that is willing to breed with you. For female dog owners, it a is bit complicated, but rewarding. Female dogs have to go through a cycle called “heat.” Heat is basically when the female dog is ready to mate with male dogs. This is the only time she can have puppies. Only if she is in heat.
A dog goes into heat twice a year. Usually every six months. My dog is currently in heat and this is her first time. She is about 1 and a half and is a pit bull. If your dog is spayed it can not go into heat meaning she can’t have puppies. Depending on your particular dog and breed will vary on when she goes into heat. For male dog owners, it can’t produce sperm until 6 months. But if his testicles have dropped then he can produce sperm.
As I stated above when females are in heat they know it is time to mate. I male dog can also know when the female is in heat. Male dogs will be especially attracted to female dogs when they are in this state. A female stays in heat for about three weeks. But females are interested in mating after the first week. Females also have a very distinctive way to tell they are in heat.
You can tell when a female dog is in heat because their vagina will become swollen. They will also have blood inside of the urine. Notice this when she uses the bathroom. Also the nipples of their breasts will drop sightly. I have noticed my dog particularly is very jumpy while in heat. Also she is a lot more whiny. Depending on your dog you might have different behaviors but that’s just how mine acts.
It is best to breed your dog while she is in heat. Usually if you have a female dog and you breed with a dog owner with a male you give him one or two puppies for their appreciation. The rest are yours to do whatever you wish. It is best to breed your dog on the second heat cycle. I say this because if you are in a rush and do it on the first heat cycle most of her litter will not make it. It will also stunt her growth and will get very skinny making her look malnourished. In addition, her next bundle will not be so promising.
