What do you want to do with your life? The key to being self-confident, is knowing who you want to be and what you want to do with your life. As a child my parents wanted more than anything for me to be a missionary. I was not sure what I wanted to do with my life; however, I was pretty sure God had not called me to be a missionary. I did many things in my life time; went to college, taught GED, became a mother, a foster mother and now a writer. All the things I did up to this point had writing in them. There were forms to full out, grants to draw up, essays, ten page term papers to write and let’s not forget the 250 word weekly discussions every week for the last four years. I love to write, I do not know how or what I am going to write about it just flows.
Every day be grateful for who you are and what you are doing. There are so many people in this country and the world who do not have what you have.
The comfort zone:
Push yourself to go beyond your comfort zone. Try new things, ok so they do not work out. The thing is you stepped outside your comfort zone. You can only fail by not trying. I know people, men and women alike who will not get their GED because they are afraid to fail. I remember my first bicycle race. I trained for months, I was not even sure my legs and hips would withstand the 20 miles. I came in dead last; however, I came in 27 minutes behind the fastest men. There were so many along the way that did not finish.
Failure is not the thing that destroys our confidence; it is the not getting back up. If you ever rode a bicycle and fell off did you put the bike up for sale? No, you thought about why you fell and learned from it. Failure can be a good thing, if we learn from the failure.
Confidence is like a plant. There are things we do to build our confidence every day.
