Investing in a personal home theater is an excellent excuse to be in a vegetable-like state when one has the opportunity. Catching up on your favorite shows or films have almost eradicated any excuse to leave the house, but when one takes a break from watching Blu-ray episodes of Downtown Abbey with Dolby surround sound, a person needs to consider proper care for their home theater investment. Electronics are very sensitive and can be very costly if not taken care of properly, so here’s a few tips to keep them in shape until they’re obsolete.
One attempt to minimize dust is to keep your entertainment center away from open windows. Dust and other debris have fair game on your entertainment center if your windows are open. Having the center placed as far away from a window will cut down on how often dusting needs to take place.
Try to dust at least once or twice a week as dust particles accumulate often. Dusting methods can range from a feather duster to a damp rag. Try to avoid harsh chemicals as they can damage your equipment. Some entertainment centers have special precautions to consider for proper clean-up advice.
Cleaning the dust between pesky small cracks of a product is easy as a keyboard duster spray works best when dealing with the sensitive product. The pressurized air in the container can usually knock out any dust particles in the way (without harming the entertainment center.)
Another clever idea to keep in mind regarding your entertainment center working properly is no smoking where the entertainment center is. Smoking cigarettes (ect.) adds a yellow film to almost electronic in the room (even the room itself.) Keep in mind that the smoke is going into areas harming your electronics where dust cannot (and of course your health.)
Clutter collects dust, therefore the less clutter on your entertainment center the better off you’ll be. Proper storage of your entertainment for your entertainment center will guarantee less clean-up in the future. This tip means organizing the disorganized mess will only make the center less susceptible to more clutter and/or dust.
Taking care of your entertainment center is in no way a difficult task if you know what you’re doing. Setting up a routine of clean-up during the week is easier than you may think once scheduled into your lazy Sunday tasks. Now get to work!
