On March 1-2, 2014, The Makeup Show returned as the premiere destination for makeup professionals with its annual West Coast beauty event. As a makeup artist, writer and beauty blogger it is a time to learn new tips and techniques, gather information on new products and brands, as well as network with fellow beauty lovers.
The Makeup Show is the largest pro-driven trade show dedicated to artistry, networking, community, inspiration and education. The Makeup Show held a Blogger Pre-Show event where bloggers got an opportunity to join The Makeup Show’s Director of Artistry and Education, James Vincent show some of his favorite products and give an exclusive peek of this year’s show.
A major highlight this year is The Makeup Show’s Icon Gallery, honoring Kevyn Aucoin, Beauty and Soul, which gave attendees a rare glimpse into the mind and makeup of the late, great artist. The showcase celebrated and commemorated Aucoin’s work by providing a look at pieces from his professional and personal life that feature his achievements in the beauty industry. The Kevyn Aucoin Icon Gallery shares moments from his life and brings you behind-the-scenes of some of his most important and inspiring works. It was an amazing tribute to hear from some from the people that worked with Aucoin and how he impacted their lives such as James Vincent and Senna Cosmetics Founder, Eugenia Weston. From his coffee table books to the collaborations Aucoin did with Elizabeth Taylor, Tina Turner, Linda Evangelista, Madonna and Janet Jackson it makes you realize how ahead of his time he was and the level of his artistry. While Aucoin’s spirit remains in our hearts, his legacy lives on through his best-selling books and makeup line. Kevyn Aucoin Cosmetics is available at major retailers which you can visit on their website.
