Streamer Hanging 101
- Flip off any fans in the party area. Streamers will catch in fans easily. Select two or three streamer colors. A single streamer is okay but stacking streamers is a bit more festive.
- Place the ends of the streamer rolls on top of one another. Tape the ends together before you unroll them. You need about 10 feet of crepe streamers, perhaps longer for larger rooms. Cut them evenly with sharp scissors.
- Position a step ladder under the place where you want to begin the displaying the streamer. Grasp the ends in one hand and climb the ladder carefully. If you feel a little nervous, ask a friend to hold the ladder for you.
- Secure the streamer with a pushpin to keep it from moving. Gently twist the stacked streamers in a clockwise motion to make them look curled. Now position the ladder a few feet from the first pushpin. Twist the streamer and secure it with a pin. Continue to move the ladder down the wall, twisting and securing the streamers as you go
How you arrange the streamers is up to you! You could criss-cross streamers from one corner of the ceiling to the other or simply drape one or two strands along a wall. It’s not recommended that you allow the paper to hang more than 2 to 3 feet from the ceiling. It’s easy for someone to accidentally tear them if they dangle too low.
