When building a team in Marvel: Avengers Alliance, you often want to include heroes that can apply specific status effects. Some of the more useful status effects in the game are those that increase stats. The paragon status effects increase individual stats, but they can’t stack with each other. Some heroes, though, can apply status effects that increase stats in other ways and these do stack, sometimes even with themselves. The following guide to the best stat increasing heroes in Marvel: Avengers Alliance will help you choose the character that will best help your team.
Cyclops – Cyclops has the passive special ability to grant Morale Boost to an ally when that ally is hit by an attack. Morale Boost increases all stats of the hero. This benefit is random, but tends to activate regularly. Additionally, when equipped with the Command Empowered ISO-8, he grants Inspiring Leadership to his entire team as a passive special ability as well. This status effect also increases all stats and, importantly, stacks with Morale Boost. Finally, as a quick action, Cyclops can grant Agile to all allies, further increasing evasion. If you are looking for general stat improvement, Cyclops is one of the best heroes in the game.
Future Foundation Spider-Man – If your goal is to improve evasion, no hero is better than Future Foundation Spider-Man. Whenever an ally of his is attacked, that hero gains a boost to stamina. This boost stacks with itself up to ten times and the hero gains one stack per hit in the attack used. There are some attacks in the game that can grant all ten stacks in a single strike. Furthermore, if there is another Future Foundation team member, all allies gain a 35% boost to attack and accuracy after four rounds of combat. This second bit isn’t particularly useful in PvP, but is great against multi-stage boss battles.
World War Hulk – World War Hulk specializes in attack and accuracy. While he is active, each team member can gain the Warbound buff up to three times when that character is attacked. Furthermore, Hulk gains a Hulk Up buff at the start of each turn, whenever he is attacked, and whenever he uses Rage Punch and Hulk Up stacks up to five times. This is a total of eight stacks that Hulk can gain that increase attack and accuracy, in addition to the two Enraged buffs he can get from fighting scrappers. That is a massive attack and accuracy boost, that is better than or comparable to all other heroes. And unlike other heroes, he shares some of that boost with allies.
Phoenix Five Emma Frost – Even without the Phoenix Five costume, Emma has a quick action power that can massively increase all stats of one ally for a single turn every other round. With the costume, this buff can also randomly apply to any ally at the start of that ally’s turn. Since most battles are rather short in this game, when this buff does randomly apply to a hero, there is a good chance it will effectively last for the entire battle.
Psylocke – Psylocke only has one power, Mental Coordination, that can increase ally stats, but the increase is comparatively high. She is basically forced to activate it every other round, but just due to the increased stats alone, it is worth the lost turn. Since it can also potentially grant bonus attacks, in some ways it is almost a quick action. If you have Psylocke equipped with the Synchronized Empowered ISO-8, her team starts with this buff, which means that she will only have to use it actively once or twice in most average length battles, and occasionally not at all.
