When building a team in Marvel: Avengers Alliance, you often want to include heroes that can apply specific status effects. One of the most valuable status effects in the game is exposed. Exposed enemies take roughly 25% extra damage from attacks. Additionally, exposed removes and replaces the fortified buff. Exposed is particularly useful when targeting a single enemy, because it is equivalent to strengthening all of your allies for attacks that only target that enemy. The following guide to the best heroes that can apply exposed in Marvel: Avengers Alliance will help you choose the character that will best help your team.
Sabretooth – Sabretooth doesn’t just have the ability to apply exposed, he has the ability to apply it to every enemy with a single attack. Additionally, this attack also has a 40% chance to stun all enemies hit as well and since the attack has three hits, it is almost assured to hit at least once when used. The downside to this attack is that it can only be used once every three rounds, so if an enemy can remove debuffs or can apply fortified, this won’t be helpful for reapplying the exposed condition.
Valkyrie – Valkyrie’s Flight of the Valkyrie attack can also apply exposed to every single enemy with a single attack. Additionally, the attack can’t be countered or protected against and it applies off-balance when it hits. The latter doesn’t increase the damage your heroes deal against the target, but it does mean that your heroes can safely attack the exposed target without any fear of counterattack. If you want to apply exposed to multiple enemies, Valkyrie is a great choice, especially if the enemy can counter exposed with fortified.
Gambit – Technically Gambit’s attack that applies exposed, Ace of Spades, is only a single target attack. But, due to the fact that Ace of Spades grants an extra turn when it consumes a kinetic charge from Gambit, it is effectively a multi-use quick action most of the time. With even two kinetic charges you can hit every single enemy with Ace of Spades in a single round. Additionally, when an ally attacks or is attacked, there is a chance that Gambit will counter or follow-up with Ace of Spades. This may seem like it could be a waste, since exposed doesn’t stack, but Ace of Spades also applies pain, which stacks up to three times and increases the damage taken by the enemy by 8% per stack, making even a single use of it more effective than just normally applying exposed and multiple uses are actually meaningful.
Original Daredevil (Tactician) – The only way that Daredevil can apply exposed is with Billy Club, which actually applies pressure points, so the status is only applied randomly. But, this is still valuable because Daredevil is the only tactician in the game that can apply exposed, with the exception of Mockingbird if she happens to be attacked by a blaster. It won’t matter often, but if you need a tactician to apply exposed, Daredevil is the one hero that can do it and with his Radar Sense he is pretty much immune to the drawback of being a tactician.
Colossus – Colossus is not a particularly good choice of heroes to apply exposed, unless you have his Decimating Empowered ISO-8. If you do, he is an amazing choice to apply exposed. Steel Fists may only apply the status to a single target, but since it hits twice, it rarely fails to apply the effect. After that, Colossus can deal massive damage with Decimate and will even counter most attacks against him with Decimate.
