There are seven different colors of ISO-8 in the Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance. Each different color of ISO-8 comes in multiple specific types. Each type grants a hero a bonus to a specific set of stats. With the exception of the Chaotic ISO-8, every prismatic ISO boosts three stats, one each from the stats that can be boosted by the red, yellow, and blue variants. This means that these ISOs tend to be balanced and, for the most part, are best for balanced heroes. The following guide to prismatic ISO-8 in Marvel: Avengers Alliance will give you all the information you need to properly equip your heroes with these ISOs.
Reactive Stalwart ISO-8 (Health, Attack, Defense / 28,950 Silver, 6 SP) – Stalwart is the worst version of the Powerful ISO. If you are concerned about retribution on an attacking hero, you much prefer evasion to defense. In fact, you prefer it so much that Skillful is one of the most useful prismatic ISOs in Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
Reactive Skillful ISO-8 (Health, Attack, Evasion / 27,750 Silver, 6 SP) – Skillful is all but critical for many of the heroic battles in the game. Many heroic battles require the hero to avoid the majority of attacks, deal lots of damage, and have enough health to survive when evasion fails. This is one of the rare ISOs that you are likely to equip in all eight slots on a hero.
Reactive Patient ISO-8 (Health, Defense, Accuracy / 25,950 Silver, 6 SP) – Patient is Sturdy with an accuracy boost. Heroes that benefit most from sturdy, bruisers in general, also tend to have the below average accuracy, making Patient a modestly good alternative. Scrappers are the other class that primarily benefit from Sturdy, but most scrappers don’t need an accuracy boost. You may still use this, though, if you want to try to make a scrapper that scores lots of critical hits.
Reactive Athletic ISO-8 (Health, Accuracy, Evasion / 25,350 Silver, 6 SP) – For most infiltrators, the combination of health, attack, and evasion is the best option. But since infiltrators inherently get a 30% increase to damage when combat reflexes activates, Athletic is also a good choice, especially for an infiltrator that already has modestly good critical hit percentages. If you can raise those percentages from modestly good to above average, you can deal higher damage by scoring critical hits than you would get from an equal attack boost.
Reactive Vigorous ISO-8 (Stamina, Defense, Attack / 28,350 Silver, 6 SP) – Vigorous is almost entirely suboptimal to Robust. If you want to increase defense, you should always increase health at the same time. If you only increase one of the two stats, always increase health over stamina. If you have some lying around, you might as well slot them in a hero that doesn’t have any other ISO. But you should never spend silver or Shield Points on Vigorous.
Reactive Tireless ISO-8 (Stamina, Attack, Evasion / 27,150 Silver, 6 SP) – Tireless is a middle of the road ISO. For a few of the longer heroic battles, you may be tempted to slot this instead of Athletic, but it is better to have increased health and simply recharge stamina one extra time during the battle. The best value for Tireless is for a hero that you generally use for boss battles in PvE. Boss battles tend to be long enough that extra stamina helps and the other two stats are basically the best stats in the game.
Reactive Stoic ISO-8 (Defense, Stamina, Accuracy / 29,630 Silver, 6 SP) – Stoic is the exact opposite of Athletic, and not unexpectedly, the worst prismatic ISO that exists. It combines the three least useful stats and is yet another ISO that increases defense without increasing health. Never purchase Stoic.
Reactive Nimble ISO-8 (Accuracy, Stamina, Evasion / 29,630 Silver, 6 SP) – Nimble is superior to Stoic, but not exceptional by any means. The primary use would be on a tactician that mainly applies status effects to enemies. Evasion is always generally useful and tactician tends to need the other two stats more than most. This is not a terrible ISO on Rescue, for example.
Reactive Chaotic ISO-8 (All / 30,000 Silver, 8 SP) – While Chaotic grants the lowest benefit to any specific stat, it grants a higher total bonus than any other ISO in the game. This is particularly good on heroes that aren’t specialized. If you ever want to increase at least five stats on a hero, you might as well give that hero nothing but Chaotic ISO-8. Heroes that change class, like Mockingbird, Punisher, or Taskmaster particularly benefit from this ISO.
