If you are looking to acquire the hero Anti-Venom in Marvel: Avengers Alliance, you will need to complete all 25 tasks in Special Operation 18. These tasks require you to complete Special Operation missions multiple times, in addition to performing other actions outside the Special Operation. As usual for any Special Operation, you will need plenty of unstable ISOs to complete these missions, so collect them from friends daily through gifting and ally visits. The following guide to Special Operation 18 in Marvel: Avengers Alliance will help you acquire Anti-Venom as efficiently as possible.
Task 1 – The first task is very simple. You need to defeat five Test Subjects in mission 1. These Test Subjects are tougher than normal, acting twice per round. If you can remove buffs, you can get rid of this advantage. You can complete this task with a single hard threat or any two lesser threats.
Task 2 – The difficulty of the second task entirely depends on whether you have ever faced Venom in combat before in the game. If you haven’t, this task is all but impossible, because you need to fight him in the villain archive, which only lets you battle villains you have previously fought. Venom is the epic boss of mission 6 of chapter 4 of season 2. If you own Black Panther, Wasp, Hank Pym, and Ms. Marvel, you can fight him. If you don’t, you can spend 5 gold to skip this task. Just remember that fights in the villain archive don’t allow you to use items, so fight him with a powerful team that can heal itself.
Tasks 3-5 – These three tasks are expensive in terms of unstable ISOs, but otherwise easy. You need to defeat each of the mini-bosses and the boss of mission 1 of Special Operation 18 in the order they appear in. Keep in mind that Anti-Venom is strong against fire and sonic while the other two symbiotes are weak against that.
Task 6 – To complete this task you will need 40 ISOs and 8 hours. Start the research before going to sleep if possible, in order to avoid wasting time.
Task 7 – Hybrid is the group boss associated with this Special Operation. You need to spawn him on a mission map to perform this task. Spawn him on the mission 2 map so you’ll be better set up for later tasks. Hybrid is very powerful and deals massive damage. For now, since all you need to do is fight him, the best way to complete this task is to use Dr. Doom or Mr. Fantastic and use Trifurcator or Bifurcator, respectively. This will deal roughly 10% damage to Hybrid.
Task 8 – This task is a lot easier if you own Spider-Man. You need to use him in combat three times. If you don’t own him, you will need to run through mission 1 or mission 2 a few times to complete the task. You can intentionally lose team up battles, but that will cost you U-ISOs and lower your score, which will make a later task harder. If you do own Spider-Man, simply fight with him outside the mission. You can even engage in three practice PvP battles with him to get credit for this.
Tasks 9-10 – Task 9 is just a battle with Anti-Venom. This is exactly like task 3, but you need to complete this battle in mission 2. Task 10 requires you to compete in five PvP battles. You don’t need to win, so just engage in five practice battles and recharge the whole time.
Task 11 – Task 11 is another research project. This one will cost you 60 U-ISOs and 24 hours.
Tasks 12-14 – These three tasks are also reasonably easy to complete in quick succession. Assuming you have just battled Anti-Venom is mission 2, Venom should be unlocked. Battle him with Anti-Venom as an ally to complete task 12. The next task can be difficult if you don’t have strong PvP skills. You need to win three PvP battles. Practice battles count, so you can keep trying indefinitely. Put together your best team, fight the weakest opponent available, and you should eventually pull through. Finally, you need to defeat the boss of mission 2. Since you already defeated the mini-bosses, this fight is easy.
Task 15 – Before you start this task, buy Antiserum Bombs from the store if you don’t already own five. Then restart mission 2 and start any threat. Use those bombs on Test Subjects until you have used five bombs total. Then just fight the battle normally.
Task 16 – This research task cost 80 U-ISOs and 36 hours. If you start it at night, you will lose less time than if you start it in the morning.
Task 17 – You need to fight the group boss Hybrid four times. You can fight the group boss of allies for credit and that doesn’t cost you energy or U-ISO. If you need to fight your own, each battle will cost 20 unstable ISOs. If Hybrid has previously been defeated, don’t despair. You can respawn him every three days.
Tasks 18-19 – This is the reason you restarted mission 2 for task 15. You need to get 2-star mastery for this task. You will later also need 3-star mastery of this mission, so you should try to maximize points and fight the mini-bosses and boss together rather than individually. Before starting task 18, send at least five heroes on short flight deck missions. As soon as you complete task 18, complete those flight deck missions in order to get credit for task 19.
Task 20 – Task 20 requires you to use Anti-Venom’s powers in combat. You can do this in a team up in mission 3, but it will be a slow battle. Make sure your other two allies are support characters that can heal Anti-Venom and keep him well defended. Do not complete the battle until you have used Cleansing Touch and Crusade repeatedly.
Task 21 – The final research project of Special Operation 18 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance costs 100 U-ISOs and will take two full days. Since you have a lot of downtime, this is a good time to farm some command points and extra unstable ISOs from missions in season 1 and season 2.
Tasks 22-23 – You can complete task 22 outside of the Special Operation if you have managed to acquire Sandman already. Since this is incredibly unlikely without spending lots of gold, just team up with him in mission 3 and follow the same strategy you did for task 20, except using Gathering Sand and Pound. Then, with both mini-bosses defeated, fighting Hybrid, the boss of mission 3, should be a breeze, especially if you use lots of fire and sonic attacks.
Task 24 – Task 24 isn’t hard, but will take a lot of time and unstable ISOs. You need to get 3-star mastery of all three missions. You will probably need to do mission 2 one more time and the other two missions two more times.
Task 25 – Unfortunately, you need to complete mission 3 to get mastery before you can start task 25. This means you will need to go through mission 3 completely at least one more time, because you need to defeat the epic boss of the mission. This epic boss requires that you own Gamora, Agent Venom, and Ms. Marvel. These heroes cost 240 command points if you don’t own any of them. If that is beyond your means, you can spend 25 gold to skip this task. Either way, once this task is complete, you will be the proud owner of Anti-Venom.
