It’s no surprise that Rockstar’s hugely popular open world video game series, Grand Theft Auto, contains a lot of cars. In fact, with a name like Grand Theft Auto, it would be more of a shock if it didn’t have a strong focus on vehicles. The most recent game in the series, Grand Theft Auto V, has more vehicles in it than any previous entry.
GTA V’s vehicles aren’t limited to just cars, either. While there are a ton of cars, including sedans, station wagons, muscle cars, vintage cars, and sports cars, there are also vans, SUVs, trucks, and more. If two wheels are more your style, you can even choose from a variety of bicycles and motorcycles (including a BMX). And that still isn’t the end of it. GTA V has public service vehicles, emergency vehicles, military vehicles, commercial vehicles, planes, helicopters, aquatic vehicles, and even a train, although the train can’t be operated in free-roam (and wouldn’t be very useful for traversing the city, anyway). That’s not even counting the unique types of vehicles that don’t fit into any category, such as the blimp, rider lawn mower, and dune buggy.
With the exception of the train category, each of these categories contains at least 10 different vehicle types, so you’ve got a ton of options to pick from. Some are returning vehicles first seen in previous games, some are brand new, and some are even bonuses tied to DLC, the Collector’s Edition, or preorders. On all of the vehicles, the license plates are randomized, so you won’t see a bunch of cars driving around all with the same numbers on their plates. Vehicles can take damage, but they can be repaired. They all have stats, as well, so pay attention to a vehicle’s speed, brakes, acceleration, and handling to understand what its strengths and weaknesses are.
Since there are so many vehicles, there are of course specific GTA 5 cheats to spawn some of them. For example, as long as you know the correct series of buttons and D-pad commands to enter from the game, you can use cheats to make a BMX bicycle or a PCJ-600 motorbike appear. If that isn’t enough for you, there are codes to spawn limousines, Comet sports cars, and more. If you’d rather take to the air, use a code to get a stunt plane or a Buzzard helicopter. For that matter, there’s even a cheat to spawn a garbage truck, so you really can have some fun messing around with codes.
There aren’t as many cheats related to vehicle effects, but you can enter a code to cause increased drifting. You can also use the code that lowers the world’s gravity, then get into your vehicle and enjoy the effects of driving through the city as if you’re driving on the moon. That should certain make things more interesting.
Yep, there’s a lot to do in GTA V, and a lot of vehicles to get you from place to place. Take a look, check them out, and fulfill your dream of driving a sports car. Or a helicopter. Or a golf cart. It’s up to you.
